The 21.097 km race is a half marathon with an approved route.
There will also be a 10.5 km non-competitive race and a 5 km non-competitive free-pace walk.

21.097 km route over two laps with zero elevation gain, entirely flat and closed to traffic along the city’s seafront.

Non-competitive race of 10.500 km
The A.S.D. Valtenna, in collaboration with the municipalities of Porto San Giorgio and Fermo, organizes the 41st edition of the Half Marathon del Piceno Fermano. The 21.097 km race is a half marathon with a certified course. DOWNLOAD THE COURSE CERTIFICATION
Additionally, there will be a NON-competitive 10.500 km race (with bib, chip, and participation diploma) and a NON-competitive 5 km walk at a free pace.

PARTICIPATION REQUIREMENTS
21.097 km COMPETITIVE NATIONAL RACE (BRONZE)
ATHLETES REGISTERED IN ITALY
According to the “Regulations for the organization of events” issued by FIDAL, ATHLETES REGISTERED IN ITALY can participate, limited to those aged 20 and over (year of birth), who meet one of the following requirements:
• Athletes registered for 2024 with FIDAL-affiliated clubs.
• Athletes with a Run Card (valid as sports insurance and competition permit), limited to those aged 20 and over. Participation is subject to presenting a valid medical certificate of fitness for athletics, which must be shown to the organizers in the original and kept in a copy by the organizing club for each event.
• Athletes registered with a Sports Promotion Entity (Athletics Section), with a Run Card-EPS; participation is subject to presenting a valid medical certificate of fitness for athletics, which must be shown to the organizers in the original and kept in a copy by the organizing club for each event (limited to those aged 20 and over).
Participation requirements for NON-REGISTERED ATHLETES IN ITALY
Italian/foreign athletes not registered in Italy can participate, limited to those aged 20 and over (year of birth), who meet one of the following requirements: • Athletes with a club card affiliated with Foreign Athletics Federations recognized by the IAAF. Upon registration, they must alternatively present:
- A self-certification of possession of the IAAF-recognized card. The self-certification must be signed in original at the time of bib pickup.
- Athletes with a Run Card for foreigners (valid as sports insurance and competition permit), limited to those aged 20 and over; participation is subject to presenting a valid medical certificate of fitness for athletics, which must be shown to the organizers in the original and kept in a copy by the organizing club for each event. The medical certificate for non-resident foreigners can be issued in their own country, but the examinations required by Italian law must be carried out: a) medical examination; b) complete urine test; c) resting and stress electrocardiogram; d) spirometry.

KM 10,500 NON-COMPETITIVE
Participation in the race is open to all those who will be 16 years old by September 15, 2024. Registration for the race implies the tacit declaration of self-certification of physical fitness for “non-competitive” sports activities as required by current regulations, thus exempting the organizers from requesting such a medical certificate.

BIB AND RACE PACK PICKUP
Participants can pick up their bib and race pack at the event office:
- Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 10:00 to 19:00 at the dedicated stand in Porto San Giorgio, Lungomare Gramsci center
- Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 07:00 to 08:30 at the dedicated stand in Porto San Giorgio, Lungomare Gramsci center
TIMING AND RESULTS
21,097 km COMPETITIVE
The results will be processed with the TIMING RUN system, thanks to the chip each athlete will receive when collecting their bib, which must be returned immediately after the finish. Final times will be validated by the GGG. Athletes who forget to wear the chip will not be listed in the rankings. Final times will be available on FIDAL.IT and Timingrun.it.
10,500 km NON-COMPETITIVE
For the 10.500 km, a list in alphabetical order with each participant’s race time will be compiled.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE, WITHDRAWN ATHLETE RECOVERY SERVICE, INSURANCE
Medical assistance will be provided with fixed points and in the finish area with an emergency first aid station. A medical service on motorcycles and a recovery service for athletes who withdraw from the course will be available. The organization will provide specific R.C.T. insurance coverage for all participating athletes.
REFRESHMENTS AND SPONGE STATIONS
As per WA/FIDAL regulations, refreshment points will be provided at the finish and at the fifth kilometer along the course.
IMAGE RIGHTS
By registering for the Half Marathon, the athlete authorizes the organization, along with its partners, to freely acquire the right to use the fixed or moving images in which they may appear, taken during their participation in the Half Marathon, on all visual supports as well as promotional and/or advertising materials, produced and distributed worldwide and for the maximum period provided by laws, regulations, treaties in force, including any extensions that may be applied to the period provided. The organization may decide to use specialized agencies for these services and grant them exclusive image rights.
PRIVACY PROTECTION
The data provided will be processed in compliance with the provisions of Legislative Decree 30.6.2003 n. 196 and used only to compile the participant list, for the ranking, for the historical archive, for the services declared in the leaflet, for subsequent communications, for inclusion in the event’s mailing list, for the SMS service, and for sending advertising material for the Half Marathon.

21,097 km: The top 5 M/F finishers will be awarded PURCHASE VOUCHERS:
1st place: value €250.00 + €50.00 expense reimbursement
2nd place: value €200.00 + €50.00 expense reimbursement
3rd place: value €150.00 + €50.00 expense reimbursement
4th place: value €100.00
5th place: value €50.00
Additionally, the top 3 M/F in each category will receive natural prizes.
Prizes are not cumulative.
Unclaimed prizes on the day will be donated to charity.
MISCELLANEOUS
- For everything not covered in this regulation, refer to specific regulations and current laws. The Race Officials will disqualify athletes who do not pass through the detection points along the course.
- Competitors may not tamper with or reduce the race bib by obscuring writings and/or symbols, under penalty of disqualification.
- All race participants must comply with traffic regulations.
- It is strictly forbidden to be accompanied by bicycles or other unauthorized personnel, under penalty of disqualification.
- The event will take place regardless of weather conditions, except in cases of natural disasters.
- Any appeals must be presented to the G.G.G. according to the procedures provided by federal regulations.
The Organizing Committee reserves the right to modify this regulation at any time for changes that will be made to F.I.D.A.L. regulations and for reasons deemed appropriate for better race organization. Any changes to times, services, and locations will be communicated to registered athletes in the confirmation letter and on the Internet site and agreed with FIDAL.
